Troubleshooting Elite
Bike Measurement mistakes
Why are my estimated measurements a little off?
Estimates from a photo can be off by up to 10%, as the app's own alert says, which is why estimated values are marked with an asterisk and an orange banner. For anything you'll rely on, measure the bike and type the number in.
What if they're off by more than 10%?
Check the crank length in the session's Bike Info first. The app uses it as the ruler for the whole photo, so a wrong crank length makes every estimate wrong by the same proportion. If the crank length is right, open the Calibration view and check the bottom bracket and pedal spindle points landed in the right place.
Why is Saddle Angle blank?
It can't be estimated reliably from a photo, so the app leaves it for you to measure and enter.
Where do I find stack and reach?
Open the Bike Measurements record, tap + Add Measurement, and add Frame Stack and Frame Reach. Type in the values you measured; they then show in the measurement list and in the report.
Why doesn't my bike recording have body points or rider measurements?
Bike Measurements is for photographing the bike on its own. For the rider, add a separate Record Rider recording to the same session. The two sit side by side in the session and are analyzed separately.
Where did the Bike Only option go?
It was replaced by the Bike Measurements record. In a session, tap + → Bike Measurements.
Can I import a photo of my bike?
Not in BFF Elite. Importing a photo is a Pro feature, so in Elite take the photo in the app.
