Saddle fore/aft

about 10 minutes Lesson 4 of 6 Section 7 of 8

How to adjust your saddle fore/aft

  1. Loosen the saddle clamp bolt(s) at the top of the seatpost (these hold the saddle to the post, not the seatpost binder clamp from Lesson 3).
  2. Slide the saddle forward or backward on its rails by the recommended amount. Keep it straight and stay inside the rails' marked range.
  3. Re-tighten to the torque in your manual, checking the saddle is still level before fully tightening.

Quick check: Re-record after every change. A fore/aft adjustment shifts your effective height, so expect a small height tweak in return, and vice versa, until both settle.
