Saddle height
Where the common formulas fall short
| Method | What it captures | What it misses |
|---|---|---|
| Heel method (heel on the pedal at 6 o'clock, leg straight) | Quick, a useful starting point | Foot angle and pedaling style entirely |
| LeMond formula (inseam × 0.883) | Quick, inseam-aware | Foot angle and pedaling style, so an inseam-only number can land outside your window |
| BFF EZ (dynamic, foot-angle-aware) | Both angles, your actual pedaling style | Corrects for what the static formulas ignore |
Static methods aren't wrong, just incomplete. They were the best we had before video analysis. A dynamic fit builds on them rather than throwing them out.
