Upper body position
Why position is different from the saddle measurements
Saddle height and fore/aft each have a wrong answer: a window of correct values with ways to go wrong on either side, and the app gives you a millimeter recommendation. Upper body position doesn't work that way:
- Three riders with similar bodies, on similar bikes, can correctly choose three different positions.
- The difference between them is what they're trying to get out of the ride.
- So BFF EZ shows you a classification, not a millimeter adjustment.
- It tells you where you're sitting.
A note on order: settle your saddle height and fore/aft before you judge position. Both change your torso angle, so your classification only steadies once the saddle stops moving. If you're still iterating on the saddle (normal early on), hold off on position, or you'll make cockpit changes you don't need once the saddle settles.
